Purchasing a Real Estate Property in South Korea

In South Korea, an officetel is a multi-use building usually with commercial and residential units. Unlike in other countries that require construction codes to be followed, the architects of contemporary Korean architecture follow a simple design philosophy. Traditionally, offices, apartments and even hotels are built based on the location and purpose of the individual construction. The commercial buildings are more spacious and have fundamental features like elevators, conference rooms and meeting facilities. Whereas the residential buildings are designed to have single buildings with internal spaces such as elevators, bathrooms and private courtyards.

The office building can have at least two stories. The building has at least one reception area, one or more boardrooms, and at least one meeting room. The commercial units may also have a spa, a gym and an indoor pool. Some of the most recent and most popular Korean office buildings are the traditional buildings with an attached clinic, art gallery or art library.

The Korean market has become so big that there are now many foreign investors who are investing in commercial properties in Korea. A very famous example of a multi-use construction is that the Seoul office complex within the Ordos City region. The Ordos City government is among the first government entities in the world to create a technical zoning regulation that is geared toward making it easier for foreigners to establish businesses. This law was adopted in reaction to the growing number of foreign nationals who set up businesses in South Korea. As a result, there are now many South Korean owned and operated office institutions that have expanded into other parts of Korea and even around the world.

Lots of the foreign investors who have set up their own offices in Korea have bought properties and offices located in and around the famous tourist spots of Seoul. One of the areas which has seen an expansion of Korean-owned institutions is the central district of Seoul. Within this area there are lots of well-developed landmarks like the Jeju Island, Busan, Andong, Yangyang, Suwon and Ulsan. These tourist destinations are home to a huge variety of international hotels such as The New York, The Paris, The London, The Regent Palace, The Hilton, The Four Seasons and many more.

Because of the lot of commercial properties available in South Korea and the ease with which foreigners can buy them, many foreigners who live in South Korea are choosing to buy second homes there. These properties are available in various price ranges depending on the location and size of the property. A number of the apartment complexes are fully furnished and equipped with all the facilities that a normal homestay would provide. Others will only offer a basic set of toiletries and furniture. Some of the more expensive South Korean apartment complexes may also provide state of the art security systems and security personnel.

There's an abundance of different housing options for those who decide to buy an apartment in South Korea. In actuality, Seoul apartments are just a short distance away from some of the most famous tourist spots in the world such as Busan, Daegu, Incheon and Busan Town. The apartments in Seoul which are located near the sea and other outdoor activities are especially popular among expats and tourists.

Although South Korean property market remains relatively open and less costly compared to the prices in the US and other European countries, the demand for South Korean property is extremely high
